Who We Are

Artifact Collaborative is a partnership of two architects redefining modern design with heart, art, and responsibility. Founded by two women with a passion for design and sustainability, we’re reshaping the Bay Area landscape with homes that capture timeless elegance while embracing the land they’re built upon. We’re inviting investors who share our vision to partner with us in building homes that elevate, inspire, and endure.

What we Do

We offer end-to-end property development with a dedication to transparency and trust. From purchase to design, construction to final sale, we’re by your side, ensuring you stay informed and empowered. Our results speak for themselves, with recent projects achieving annual returns of 15% to 45%—and we’re just getting started.

What Makes us Unique

Elegance with purpose is our signature. As architects, we’re hands-on at every stage, weaving sustainable practices into each home. Reclaimed wood, natural cooling techniques, and outdoor connectivity aren’t just features—they’re part of our philosophy. Every design decision reflects our belief in creating homes as adaptable as they are beautiful—built for today’s lifestyles and tomorrow’s possibilities.

the Founders

Bridgett Shank and Megan Carter started Artifact Collaborative to combine their passions for creating beautiful Architecture along with their their satisfaction for direct collaboration during construction.  We simplify the home-building journey by offering a seamless, turnkey approach that removes the stress of extensive construction projects. For buyers this means thoughtfully designed homes that are ready to live —crafted with care, efficiency, and attention to every detail. By fostering a supportive environment where our teams coalesces seamlessly,  we ensure every project reflects the passion and dedication of the professionals behind it. This ethos of thoughtful collaboration is woven into every Artifact Property we design, delivering spaces that inspire and endure.

Bridgett, a spreadsheet fanatic, handles the finances for each project.  She graduated from University of Cincinnati with a BS in Architecture followed by a Master of Architecture from California College of the Arts.  She believes that the best design approach incorporates data analysis and considering the more experiential aspects of space;  exceptional architecture happens at the intersection of the two.

Megan, an organizational enthusiast, manages the operations for each project.  She graduated from Whitman College with a degree in English Literature and then went to California College of the Arts for a Master of Architecture.  She combines her English literature background with her Architectural interests to craft a visual story for each project she takes on.

Together they watch the market for new properties that fit the criteria of their development model.  During the process they carefully envision how the inhabitants will live in the space and design moments that are unique to each project.  Their firms, CB Architecture & Design and Timbre Architecture are hired to jointly design, permit and complete architectural drawings for each project.
